As of March 31, 2025, USCIS has completed the fiscal year (FY) 2026 H-1B cap lottery, including the master’s cap. Employers whose registrations were selected will be notified and can begin filing H-1B petitions starting April 1, 2025.
What U.S. Employers Need to Know:
Only employers with selected registrations can file an H-1B cap-subject petition.
Petitions must be filed within the 90-day window starting April 1, 2025 and include the selection notice and evidence of the beneficiary’s valid passport or travel document.
Filing can be done online or at the correct USCIS filing location.
